A four-point insurance inspection is sometimes a requirement when obtaining a new homeowners insurance policy or renewing an existing policy for houses that are 25-30 years or older in the Central Florida area.

This 4-point insurance inspection includes a limited scope evaluation of the following four systems:

Roof

Electrical System

HVAC System

Plumbing System

The inspections purpose is to determine the components, general condition, and age of these systems. The Insurance Company will typically require that the inspections be performed by suitably licensed Home Inspector or their own representative.

**Requirements for insurance companies may exclude some of the systems of a 4-Point Inspection. When calling to book the inspection please inform us if this is the case and which systems should be evaluated. The pricing will be adjusted based on this fact. 

Much the same purpose as the four points inspection, This inspection is many times also requested of the home owner to get qualifying and/or discounts on insurance premiums. 

The difference is, Wind Mitigation Inspections focus on the things that get damaged during high winds like what a Hurrican can produce. So the focus is on the Roof, it's type, How the roof is constructed, The materials used, right down to the nails used to attach the heating to the trusses/rafters. How it is attached to the top of the walls, If there are Hurrican clips, straps, anchors etc. Next is windows and doors. What type, and if they are properly protected from possible high winds damage, ie storm/hurricane shutters and the like.

These inspected items are all photographed and documented on the industry standard ORI-B1-1802 form that gets submitted to your insurance provider.
